Post-Interview Thank You Notes
Follow-up notes or thank-you letters should be brief, specific, personal and prompt (within 3-4 days of the interview).
Email is the preferred format today, and allows your note to arrive before a decision is reached. It should be sent from your private email account, never your current employer’s.
Each note should be individually addressed (no CC: or BCC:) and should speak to specific topics of conversation that arose in the interview with the individual.
If appropriate (and addresses are available), they should be sent to each person who interviewed you; at the very least, you should always send one Thank You note to the primary Hiring Manager for the position (the person to whom you would report).
